Battle Of The Bands Heat 2 Review

After an explosive Heat 1, where Roll Machine, Audio Narcosis and Superego went through, Heat 2 proved to be just as successful. There were six more orcadian bands battling it out for the chance to go through to the final and each trying to impress the judges with their originality. Hetty & The Petticoats were on first, warming the crowd for an impressive night ahead, up next was the young but hopefull 25K who really do bring something original to the music scene in orkney.

Dazed come on next and really have improved since the first time everyone had seem them, adding more true rock and roll themed guitar riffs to their music and really impressing the audience. After Dazed come off the stage it’s none other than Blindspot’s time to shine. With an EP coming out very soon, they tease the crowd with some of their originals and proving to be well balanced musicians. Feedback then hit the stage, a band that not many people have heard from in quite some time but progressing and improving. Last is the band that everyone has been talking about, Showcase Jay. Their Progression-Rock sound blows away the crowd, and become the talk of the night.

Showcase Jay take off from the stage and the bands anxiouslly wait for the results. The bands that impressed the judges most and that are going into the final are Blindspot, Dazed & Showcase Jay. It’s going to be one hell of a final, everyone has their favourites but the winner of Battle Of The Bands will be announced next Thursday. Tickets available from Ridgeways Travel.
