Stone Roses Experience

Well it’s yet another tribute act up in Orkney this weekend, this time one with the ominous reputation of being one of the best tribute bands around. While it will sadden some to see the club packed out for a tribute act and sparse for acts like the Crimea, I’m trying to see it for what it is: similar to listening to a cd, but accompanied by a stage show. Well, it’s not like there’s anything else to do.

I also find it hilarious that they were forced to change their name from The Complete Stone Roses to The Stone Roses Experience after falling out with their management. It’s almost as if they think they’re a real band!

One last thing, I noticed that there’s no support act, which seems a bit harsh. Since this is bound to draw a crowd it would’ve been good exposure for a local act, as well as justifying the £8 price tag. Maybe they were worried they’d be shown up by actual talent and original material.
